Anything beyond CE (a certificate of origin, a national scheme, an inspection certificate) is arranged on request. Tell the export desk what your market asks for, so it is confirmed with your quotation before you commit.Compliance and documents
If you import into the EU, keep the declaration and the reports that came with the goods: an importer keeps a copy of the declaration for ten years after the appliance is placed on the market.

Plug and voltage

Look up the mains voltage, frequency and plug type of your destination market.Voltage by country
Say which market the goods are for. Voltage, frequency, plug, cord and the printing on the box change from market to market, and getting them wrong is the most expensive mistake in this trade.
Ask for the plug, cord and voltage for your order to be confirmed in writing with the quotation.
Some countries run two voltages or mix socket types. If yours is one of them, confirm the destination town before the order is built.

Confirm the code with your customs broker or authority. The first six digits are the same in every country, the rest are your country's, and the importer is responsible for the code declared at import.
Ask for HS codes to be agreed in advance, so that they appear line by line on the commercial invoice.

Decide which Incoterm you want to be quoted on before you compare quotations: two quotations on different terms are not two prices for the same thing. Most orders are quoted FOB.FOB or CIF from Ningbo
Name your destination port. The goods ship from Ningbo, and the freight is agreed with you before it is booked.
Know what stays with you on FOB, CFR and CIF alike: import duty, VAT and customs clearance at your port.
On CIF the insurance is the minimum cover, in your name, not full cover. Ask what the policy covers, or arrange your own.

Check what the rating label shows: the name and brand mark, the product name and code, the rated voltage and frequency, the wattage and the CE mark, and the class II symbol where the appliance is double-insulated.The CE declaration, explained
The electrical figures on the label are the ones the appliance was built and tested to, for the market named on the order. Make sure that market is yours.
